Performance becomes a UX consideration

In Figma, adding another chart costs virtually nothing. In Power BI each visual can create additional rendering and query work.

More visuals ≠ better dashboard.

A useful page usually has a clear hierarchy:

  • 3–5 important KPIs
  • 1 primary analytical visual
  • 1–3 explanatory visuals
  • 1 detail table when needed

This is a design heuristic, not a Power BI limit. The underlying principle is that every visual needs a reason to exist.
